Dark Horse Comics announced a new book today from Victor Gischler (X-Men vs. Vampires) and Italian artist Maurizio Rosenzweig (That's a Spicy Meatball) called Clown Fatale. The press release tags the book as "Cute! Carny! Contract Killers!" and the cover features nearly naked women dressed up as clowns, which creates a difficult situation for comic book readers who get their jollies by looking at sexy illustrations of women and who also suffer from Coulrophobia, the fear of Canadian comedy legend Dave Coulier the fear of clowns.

"When I first glanced at the cover on Dark Horse's website, I was immediately attracted to Tim Seeley's very sexy drawings of cleavage and the top half of the pubis," said John Copeland, a single, 45 year old man living in his mother's basement in Cheyenne, WY, who has hated clowns since a scarring incident at his fourth birthday party. "And then my eyes drifted up to their faces... white face paint... red noses... tiny hats..."

"Oh god," Copeland added. "The tiny hats!"

In a typical example of comic book industry insensitivity, it seems that Dark Horse didn't even consider the feelings of Coulrophobes when creating the book. “I wanted to write a comic that was like the baby of Russ Meyer and Quentin Tarantino on whiskey and meth, and Dark Horse was cool enough to let me do it,” stated writer Victor Gischler in the press release. “I wanted something that was grindhouse but simultaneously a parody of grindhouse. Clown Fatale is the result, and Maurizio and Moreno are killing it with the visuals.”

"Aaaaggghhhhhhhhhhhh!" screamed Copeland, hysterical.

We read him the description of the book from the press release, slowly and sadistically:

In the world of circus folk, there’s nothing lower than a clown. So when the Femme Clowns are mistaken for contract killers, they abandon their shabby traveling circus for a world of violence and cruelty—with clown makeup.

"Oh god! A-aagghh!" he cried, sobbing in the corner, still visibly aroused.

Clown Fatale will be in comic shops and the Dark Horse Digital Comics Store on November 13.
