Jaden Smith to be Cast in ID4 Sequel?

Will Smith in talks to return for the sequel can only mean one thing.

Will Smith was said to be not at all interested in the sequel to Independence Day earlier this year, planning to shun blockbusters when After Earth bombed, but Roland Emmerich says they are now in talks with the actor to return.

This can only mean one thing, Emmerich must have created a role for Will Smith's son Jaden in the script to tempt the actor.  Emmerich has yet to respond to inquiries from us, but we imagine his answer would be something like, "This has nothing to do with Will Smith, it's a natural casting choice.  You see, the surprise is gone, we know all about these aliens now, we only require an actor that can look confused and worried this time."

Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum have already been confirmed to return for the sequel, which was due to be released in 2015, but may be pushed back to 2016 now.
