Do a Google search with the words "Andrea", "Walking Dead", and "dumb". Go ahead, do it. Take your time. Hell, for clicks and giggles, make it a I'm Feeling Lucky search and come back.
What you've probably learned in this little exercise is that even in the Zombie Apocalypse, The Walking Dead's Andrea wasn't getting a call from MENSA. She was a comedy of tragedy and a tragedy of comedy all at once, a victim of the writing team's personal vendetta against likable female characters.
Encouraging teen suicide? Sure.
Begging for guns she was clearly incapable of using? Uh-huh.
Accidently shooting her friends when she got said gun? You betcha.
Using her private parts as a watering hole for sociopaths and assholes? Well, duh.
Pausing and musing while trying to escape from handcuffs when time is clearly an issue, because of a nearby zombie transformation, and dying as a result? Hell...fucking...yeah!
So casting Laurie Holden, who portrayed Andrea on the show, as the female lead in Dumb and Dumber To is an obvious choice.
From our BFFs at The Latino Review:
Deadline is reporting that Laurie Holden, best known fro AMC’s The Walking Dead, has joined the cast of Dumb and Dumber To. In the film she will play “Adele Pichlow, the well to do wife of a doctor who is up to no good and who plans to use Harry and Lloyd to cover her tracks.”
Unfortunately, upon hearing of the casting, Jim Carrey, Holden's co-star and notorious complainer, proactively voiced his concerns. Reportedly.
"I watched Walking Dead. I'm familiar with the Andrea character, and I don't think I'll be able to promote the movie now," Carrey said, ignoring the fact that he has yet to film a single scene.
"Andrea's actions reached a level of stupid I just can't in good conscience support. In light of the recent stupidity of Miley Cyrus and the DC Comics 3DNado, we don't need to be pushing more stupidity on the general public," Carrey went on as he turned around and bent over to speak through his Canadian bacon. "I'll still read the script, act the scenes, and cash my check, but I won't be happy about it."
"Seeing a fishtank of zombie heads and still gettin' your freak on?"
Dumb and Dumber To is set to be released in 2014.
