Source: 'Star Wars Rebels': David Oyelowo, Freddie Prinze Jr. in Talks for Voice Cast (Exclusive)
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that producers have cast some seasoned vocal talents and some current "hot" commodities in Hollywood with Freddie Prinze Jr., David Oyelowo, Vanessa Marshall (who's no stranger to Weisman run programs as she voiced Mary Jane Watson on Spectacular Spider-Man and Black Canary on Young Justice), Steve Blum (another Weisman alum who voiced the Green Goblin on Spectacular Spider-Man and Count Vertigo on Young Justice), and Taylor Gray.
For Oyelowo and Gray, it would be their first time voice acting. Prinze Jr., on the other hand, is no stranger to voice acting, having recently voiced a character in Mass Effect 3 and having appeared numerous times on Robot Chicken. This is the first bit of new Star Wars: Rebels news since the brief teaser two months ago at Star Wars: Celebration, where some concept designs and test animations were shown. It's possible that we might know learn information come NYCC next month, but, in all likelihood, probably not.
Regardless, Star Wars: Rebels looks to begin its rebellion on Disney XD sometime during the Fall of 2014 (probably late September, early October if they follow its predecessor, Star Wars: The Clone Wars airings).
