The first major announcement of this weekend's convention is out and it's a doozy.
Dynamite and Dark Horse announced a new Conan/Red Sonja crossover co-written by Gail Simone and Brian Wood. While Red Sonja was a longtime supporting character of Conan in his Marvel series, the two characters haven't appeared together in comic books for some time.
In an interview with CBR, Simone stated that she got the ball rolling on the crossover by suggesting it to the powers that be at both Dynamite (who publishes Red Sonja) and Dark Horse (who publishes Conan the Barbarian). Both writers stressed that Sonja and Conan will be their iterations of the characters seen within their respective series;. However, Wood noted that Conan will be older and more experienced than he is in Dark Horse's ongoing.
There's no word on when the miniseries will be released, but we expect more details this weekend.
