Image Comics announced a new horror series written by Robert Kirkman entitled Outcast. The series, which will be illustrated by Paul Azaceta, will be about a person suffering from demonic possession and his role is stopping some sort of worldwide threat.
In a conference call with Image Comics and a bunch of comic news sites that we weren't invited to, Kirkman noted that the book was inspired by exorcism movies and that it would deal with exorcism tropes in the same manner that The Walking Dead deals with zombie tropes. He's been developing the series for two years, and hopes that it'll be a longrunning series like his other books.
Kirkman also stated that the series is already being developed for television by Fox International and that he'll be writing the script for the pilot episode. He also noted that while this series would have a revolving supporting cast, it wouldn't have the same body count as The Walking Dead (nor, hopefully the cyclical plot).
