The comic book world was shocked yesterday when Dynamite Entertainment announced a new four issue mini-series by Herik Hanna and Bruno Bessadi called Bad Ass. Billed as a cross between Deadpool and Kick-Ass, the series' titular hero is really more of a villain and the book will be a parody of the superhero genre. What's so shocking about that? Bad Ass is a brand new character and not a classic Golden Age character from a long defunct publisher that Dynamite bought the rights to.
"We're extremely embarassed that such a glaring error managed to slip past all the safeguards in place to prevent us from publishing a book starring a character created after Roosevelt left office" complained Vice President of Crochity Curmudgeonliness Alex Ross while shaking his fist angrily at his fellow Dynamite executive, a painting of a fat Superman by Alex Ross. "The last time this happened was with The Boys."
"It took us years to get rid of that young upstart Garth Ennis," added Ross, "and we had to publish forty-seven Green Hornet and Kato minis after that just to wash away the stench of the twenty-first century."
The company apologized to its fans profusely for the mistake, but admitted they would have no choice but to see the comic through, since they'd publicly announced it.
"WHAT?!" responded Dynamite's fans because they're old.
