You know how, every year, you feel like the Christmas season starts to come earlier and earlier, with stores playing Christmas music and decorating and selling Christmas themed items the day after Halloween, and it seems like eventually the entire year is going to be an ongoing cycle of Holiday-themed consumerism run amuck? Well, your fears become reality today, as Image Comics has just announced Krampus, a Christmas comic, as an ongoing series. That's right. Image is the first brave company to take that leap into marketing Christmas all year round. And now, it's only a matter of time before everyone else follows and the world descends into a nightmarish eternal Christmas hellscape.
And do you know what the worst part is? The book looks fucking awesome. I mean, look at that dude. He's like the heavy metal god version of the Grinch. It sounds like it could be a pretty fun book. I think I might actually... noooo! See, I'm falling into the trap! First it's one ongoing comic about Christmas, then you just leave the decorations up on the house all year, and before you know it, you're passed out in a filthy alley in the bad part of town in a hot chocolate, singing Jingle Bells with discarded cans of used up Christmas tree snow spray littering the ground around you.
This is the beginning of the end, people.
Here's the press release:
MOVE OVER GRINCH,
KRAMPUS! IS HERE FOR THE HOLIDAYS

The only thing chillier than a Christmas Day blizzard is a visit from Krampus, the child-punishing demon of holiday lore. But when The Secret Society of Santa Clauses discovers their powers have been stolen, there’s no one else to turn to for help but their worst enemy.
