Neal Adams Charity Auction to Benefit... Me?!

Neal Adams Charity Auction to Benefit... Me?!

The legendary comics artist will join with Wizard World to raise money for Jude Terror... thanks guys!

Source: Press Release

Day after day, Ol' Jude Terror slaves away at The Outhouse, writing snarky posts about comic book news that hopefully give readers a chuckle now and then, and, like the saint that he is, he does it for free. It looks like, finally, someone has taken notice and decided to reward "St." Jude Terror for his efforts. Legendary artist Neal Adams will conduct a series of auctions at upcoming Wizard World conventions, and the proceeds of those auctions will go to fund... wait, that can't be right...

Dammit! It looks like the proceeds are not going to Jude Terror, but rather to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, which, now that we think about it, actually makes more sense and is a much worthier cause. So yeah, if you're at Wizard World, try to participate in one of these. As for Ol' Jude Terror, I guess I'll just have to keep my day job.

Above, you can see some of Neal's art that he'll be donating to the auction, most likely autocropped by our publishing software to show just Wonder Woman's boobs. You can see the full image below.

Here's the press release:

Comics Legend Neal Adams To Conduct Charity Art Auctions At Wizard World Events Beginning At Austin Comic Con, November 22-24

Initiative To Benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

NEW YORK, November 11, 2013 – Eisner Award Hall of Famer Neal Adams, in conjunction with Wizard World, Inc., will conduct a series of charity comics art auctions at Wizard World's pop culture conventions across the United States, beginning at Austin Comic Con, Nov. 22-24, it was announced today by Adams and Wizard World Chairman & CEO John Macaluso.  A portion of proceeds from the auctions, which will be comprised of pieces donated by Adams and other notable comics artists, will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

“The auctions are a great way to showcase outstanding artwork produced by top creators all over the world and to reward them, while benefiting a tremendous cause,” said Adams, a regular at Wizard World events who is widely credited with reviving the “Batman” franchise and is thought of by many as the greatest contemporary comic artist in our medium. “I am pleased to be working with Wizard World to spread the program into as many venues and reach as many comic art lovers as possible.”

Adams has created a “Wonder Woman” piece as his first donated item, available at Austin Comic Con.  The auction will be held on the Wizard World Main Stage (show floor) on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 5 p.m.

Adams headlines a standout roster of creators scheduled to attend Wizard World Austin Comic Con, including Greg Capullo (“Batman,” “Spawn”), Mark Bagley (“Fantastic Four,” “Ultimate Spider-Man”), Kenneth Rocafort (“Superman,” “Action Comics”), Mike Grell (“Green Arrow,” “Green Lantern”), Phil Ortiz (“The Simpsons,” “Muppet Babies”), “Zombie King” Arthur Suydam (“Marvel Zombies,” “Army of Darkness”), Michael Golden (“Hulk,” “Daredevil”) and nearly 200 others.

Stan Lee, Norman Reedus of “The Walking Dead,” WWE® Superstar John Cena® and “Star Trek” captains William Shatner and Scott Bakula are among the top celebrities attending the event, held at the Austin Convention Center. It is the eighth and final event in the 2013 series produced by Wizard World, Inc. (OTCBB: WIZD) and will also feature a variety of activities, exhibitors and special attractions.

Additionally, all full price attendees will receive a free copy of the Exclusive Variant Cover of The Walking Dead #1 comic, drawn by Rob Guillory (“Chew”) and available only at Wizard World Austin Comic Con.

About the Author - Jude Terror

Jude Terror is the Webmaster Supreme of The Outhouse and a sarcastic ace reporter dedicated to delivering irreverent comics and entertainment news to The Outhouse's dozens of loyal readers. Driven by a quest for vengeance, Jude Terror taught himself to program and joined The Outhouse. He instantly began working toward his goal of forcing the internet comics community to take itself less seriously and failing miserably.  Ironically, our webmaster, whose website skills know no end, has very little understanding of social networks or how they work.  Regardless, you can find him on Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr, but would probably have the most luck just emailing him.
