Well, the inevitable has happened, after the recently announced Wolverine #1, Origins II, Max, Icon, 2099, Ultimate, Ultimate Comics, Ultimate Comics Ultimate UK, What If?, Elseworld, House of Wolverine, Marvel NOW!, Marvel THEN!, When Will Marvel THEN be NOW? 1802, Star Wars: Darth Logan, Tyler Perry Presets: Tyler Perry’s Wolverine, and MIllarWorld Marvel has been court ordered to cut back on the number of Wolverine comics they publish per month. The first victim of this activist court’s ruling is the beloved Wolverine & The X-Men.
That’s right, True Believers, Scott Summers gets his wish as the Jean Grey School For Gifted Youngsters is forced to no longer be featured in a comic book.
Now, there will be those “continuity nerds” that point out that the fact that Wolverine will be a villain come Paul Cornell’s Wolverine #1 and probably wouldn’t be allowed to be a head master anyways I have three things to say:
- Continuity between Wolverine books! Don’t make me laugh. No, really, don’t, I have a cold and it hurts to laugh.
- He wasn’t a villain already?
- Shut up!
Or, and more likely, Wolverine & The X-Men will relaunch with a new #1 come April after the appeals process proves that, by adding “& The X-Men” the book is actually outside the scope of the court’s authority.
