The fastest man alive already moved from guest appearance to his own show.
CW had originally planned to ease the Flash into the current television DC world by way of a guest appearance on the popular Arrow, but have shifted gears and gone straight into shooting for a traditional pilot.
He would have been appearing, in costume, in episode 20 of Arrow, but instead will head straight for his own show. The creative team is unchanged, with Arrow co-creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg and writer Geoff Johns handling the pilot and Nutter, directing. Berlanti, Kreisberg and Nutter executive produce, with Melissa Kellner Berman co-executive producing.
Apparently the cuts from episodes eight and nine of the Flash were very well received and shooting for a traditional pilot will give them a bigger budget and more time to flesh out the character than through a tie-in only. The shows will still be tied together, with Barry Allen first appearing on Arrow, but it will now exist as it's own entity and not as an Arrow spin-off. It's unsure what changes this will force to episode 20 of Arrow.
