Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. aired its eighth episode last night, which marks the seventh consecutive ratings drop for the show since it debuted to 15.8 million viewers, is what comic book blogger Jude Terror wrote, despite ratings information for the episode not yet being available at time of publication. I'm thinking it probably got a 1.0 or maybe even a .8, Terror added, talking about the highly coveted 18-49 demographic, with, let's say, 3.2 million viewers. According to reports, Terror was willing to take this leap despite this week's episode boasting a tie-in to the popular Thor: The Dark World, explaining that no one who wasn't going to watch the show anyway is really aware of that.
Terror had no idea if the numbers would be accurate, but he was almost certain that they would be lower than they were last week, and honestly, Terror reasoned, no one was likely to notice beyond that anyway. They'll just post a comment about how the show would do better if it featured D-list characters from the comic books, or if Agent Ward were dropped from the show and replaced by Spider-Man, he explained.
Fake Ratings Chart That Will Probably Get Cited In Some Article on Some Dumb Blog
|4||Gilligan's Island Rerun||1.6||4.5M|
|5||Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.||1.0||3.2M|
Terror told The Outhouse that he would take pleasure in watching fans proclaim that this week's drop meant the cancellation of the show for sure, despite such a claim being based on made up numbers. The reason most of the people on the internet are even watching it is so they can complain online, so they're not going to really care that these aren't the real ratings, he said, adding, any port in a storm. But if I get them wrong, he pointed out, it'll be even more gratifying to see readers post the real ratings and call me an idiot, failing to recognize that they're reading a satire article.
Their response to that will be that satire is normally supposed to be funny, Terror admitted, to which he had no valid reply.
