Over the weekend, the Outhouse reported on the leak of an alleged Amazing Spider-Man 2 poster showcasing Electro, the Rhino and the Green Goblin. As with several other sites, comments about the poster were not too kind, with several posters definitively stating it was a fake.
You are correct, that is a 100 percent a photoshopped James Franco goblin on the poster.
And that Rhino is definitely ripped from something else, looks like a beetleborg or something.
Until we see a specific official release of this poster or confirmation from the actual studio, I'm calling bullshit.
Today, the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Facebook page released a higher quality image of the tryptch posters, with the announcement that the trailer would be released on Thursday.
So it looks like, according to our crack Hollywood analysts on the forums, Amazing Spider-Man 2 will mark the return of James Franco as Harry Osborn, as well as the debut of the Beetleborg, a new villain designed specifically for this film. Personally, I don't know who will be crying more about this reveal, the fans who guaranteed this was a fake, or the poor intern who spent hours laboring over this poster.
We look forward to assorted commenters trying out for a spot on the US backpedalling team in the comments. Remember, you get bonus points by saying you were joking!
