Remember when Paul Rudd said he didn't know anything about being in Ant-Man? About that... (Updated: Marvel Confirms)
Source: The Wrap
Paul Rudd has been offered the role of Ant-Man in the upcoming Marvel movie, and is now in negotiations for the part. Assuming all the contractual details are worked out, we now have our Hank Pym.
Neither Marvel nor Paul Rudd's reps have had any comment, so expect an additional article coming soon from some website with that "exclusive" announcement that he's been cast.
Edgar Wright is directing the movie from a script he co-wrote with Joe Cornish, and Disney will release the film on July 31, 2015.
Marvel confirmed the casting today, with Marvel Studio's Kevin Feige saying about the actor:
“When Edgar Wright came to us with the idea of Paul Rudd, we felt a huge sense of relief because the first step in creating any Marvel Studios film is finding the right star. We knew early on that we had found the right person in Paul. When he not only agreed to do it but became as enthusiastic as any actor we’d ever met with about doing the work, we knew we’d found the right guy. We couldn’t be more excited for our audiences to see what he’s going to do to bring Ant-Man to life.”
