It looks like Galactus won't be munching on all of the Ultimate Universe. Marvel announced three new "Ultimate Marvel NOW!" series spinning out of the currently running Cataclysm event, which pits the classic version of Galactus (y'know, the 616 version) against the Ultimate Universe.
First, and most importantly, is Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man, which will be written by Brian Bendis with art from David Marquez. Miles will also star in All-New Ultimates, which will team up Miles with a group of teenage heroes, including Kitty Pryde, Bombshell and Cloak and Dagger. All-New Ultimates will be written by Michel Fiffe with art from Amilcar Pinna. The final series is a new "Ultimate FF" series, which will star Tony Stark, Sue Storm and several other geniuses of the Ultimate Universe. That series will be written by Josh Fialkov and drawn by Mario Guevara.
This marks the third reboot of the Ultimate Universe, which originated as a modern update of the Marvel Universe, but has found itself bordering irrelevancy as the mainstream Marvel Universe embarked on a series of yearly events led mainly by Brian Bendis. It feels to me like Marvel's spinning its wheels and making one last attempt to try something different with the Ultimate Universe, but then again, that's what I said last time they relaunched the Ultimate books two years ago.
