Tempers flared on the internet today when geek news site Big Shiny Robot published a rumor claiming Dame Judi Dench was set to play Mon Mothma in Star Wars Episode 7. Satirical shock blog The Outhousers took offense to the rumor, which they say infringes on a rumor they made up last week claiming Dench was in talks to play Aquaman in Superman vs. Batman.
"Who the fuck do they think they are?" complained an enraged Outhouse Editor in Chief Christian Hoffer. "They're breaking the code of the internet. There are plenty of other older actresses who Big Shiny Robot could make up a Star Wars rumor about. Why would they bite off ours? It's disrespectful."
News of the rumor came to The Outhousers from a report on tabloid comics site Bleeding Cool, which called the rumor "funny" and also a "rumour" because they are limeys over there and they put random U's in words for no reason. Representatives for Big Shiny Robot refused to comment on the growing controversy, or at least we assume they would have if we asked them. However, Ace Reporter Jeremy "Sherman" Shane, who normally handles made-up Hollywood gossip for The Outhousers, had some choice words for Big Shiny Robot.
"I'm the best blogger in the game!" the enraged, bald writer shouted. "When you try me with a sorry ass Star Wars rumor like Judi Dench as Mon Mothma, that's the result you're gonna get!"
As far as the rumor, both sides are sticking to their guns, with Big Shiny Robot insisting that Dench will play the rebel leader and The Outhousers standing firm that Dench will play the aquatic superhero. Only time will tell whose random guess presented as inside information from a trusted source will be correct.
