The Daily Mail is reporting that actor Paul Bettany will be joining the cast of Avengers: Age of Ultron to play the android superhero: Vision.
Far from official confirmation, Daily Mail reports the news after costume fittings occurred for the actor. (Update: Variety is now reporting the news as well). They also dropped the code-name for the movie, "After Party," which is sure to be changed soon now that it is out.
Bettany and Jeremy Renner, who plays ace archer Hawkeye, were at Shepperton Studios just outside London this week, meeting with director Joss Whedon. They did a series of costume, hair and make-up tests and worked with stuntmen and armourers.
Make-up experts were using various powders and potions on Bettany’s pale skin to bring about the Vision’s chalk-white complexion.
Initially it was rumored Bettany would be playing Jarvis (not that I understand why exactly, since he's always been Jarvis), but the actor certainly seems a good fit for Vision. The "chalk-white complexion" gives me pause, but apparently the Vision originally had chalk-white skin when initially created. It does offer a pretty good look at the possible origins and love-square of Stark-Jarvis-Vision-Ultron.
