Graham Nolan Will Be Taking His Talents To Astro City.

X-Men Forever artist will provide guest pencils for Astro City #12

Former Batman and X-Men Forever Graham Nolan has been announced as the guest artist for Astro City #12. This will mark the first story in the title’s on-and-off 19-year history not to feature regular artist Brent Anderson’s pencils.

Series writer Kurt Busiek too to his website to explain that the move was made to make sure the current series stays on its recular monthly schedule.

This is a big step for us—we’ve had pinups by other artists and Brent’s been inked and/or embellished by a few different names, but this is the first Astro City story that doesn’t feature his storytelling. We decided a while ago that it was something we needed to do, to keep the book monthly, but we didn’t want to just go out and get anyone. We wanted the right guy.

Nolan pencils will be featured on a story about an Astro City villain known as the Gentleman Bandit. Judging from a preview page released with the announcement, the Astro City heroes Quarrel and Crackerjack will be making appearances as well.

Busiek says Anderson will continue as the series’ regular artist, along with cover artist Alex Ross.
