Ah Pacific Rim, this reporter's favorite film of 2013. Though if there was one problem I had with you was the fact NECA gave the fanbase for the film scant selection when the film premiered. Since then NECA more than made up for it by continuing the line (Wave 3 featuring Chemo Alpha, Coyote Tango, Battle-Damaged Knifehead, and Trespasser) became available online this past week. So expecting retailers or comic shops to have them soon, if not already). Now NECA is doing yet another bit of service to the fanbase by giving us a poll on which Jaeger or Kaiju you want to see in the line next:
- The "Prologue Jaegers" (Tacit Ronin, Romeo Blue, Horizon Brave)
- Striker Eureka 2.0
- Knifehead 2.0 (regular Knifehead using the large 'Battle-Damaged' mold)
- Brawler Yukon
- The "Comic Kaiju" (Scissure, Belobog, Verocitor)
- Crimson Typhoon (Reissue)
- Striker Eureka (Reissue)
As for why Gypsy itself isn't on the list is because NECA is doing a redo of the mold (which was revealed at NY Toyfair this past week) and it'll be out for Wave 5 (available sometime later this year, and you'll probably see it first from NECA at SDCC more than likely).
This reporter thinks the selections on the poll should be obvious. OTACHI AND SLATTERN (whatever the third choice is superfulous.. because the rest of the kaiju and jaegers are freaking awesome.. it's just that those two MUST BE DONE.) Both Kaiju not having been released is a true crime (and given Otachi could probably be reused twice in regular and it's other "fun" form well dammit just take my money NECA and make it happen. Until then, let us be reminded of their greatness from the movie:
