Lovers of independent comic book thoughts and opinions were greatly distressed Tuesday when The Outhouse published a sneak peak preview of Thaniel #2, a comic which is currently featured in ad banners on the site. The move is controversial due to the satirical news website's habit of mocking CBR and Newsarama for giving five star reviews to Marvel and DC comics while simultaneously running their ad banners. Of course, The Outhouse would never compromise their integrity in that way, as emphasized in a pre-recorded video message from Ace Reporter Jude Terror.
"I look forward to reading Thaniel, and I think our readers will enjoy it too!" swore the wide-eyed and grinning reporter. Terror then took a large bite out a copy of Thaniel #2, chewed it in his mouth for a moment while continuing to grin unnaturally, and swallowed.
"Mmmmmm," Terror said, sincerely.
Terror then posted some verbatim solicit info for the book, along with several sneak peak images, which you can view below:
PREMISE: A cross between “Boys N The Hood” and “Dead Like Me,” THANIEL is about a young man surrounded by death his entire life. A high-school dropout with a very troubled past, Thanie's world becomes more complex when he discovers that his father is the Grim Reaper himself, Death. Written and created by Omar Spahi (XENOGPLYPHS) with art by Terry Huddleston, THANIEL launches in April with its first two issues of a four issue mini-series.
SYNOPSIS: After discovering the person behind the drug trafficking in his city, Thaniel’s forced to use his power against someone he cares about. Every decision he’s made, every tragedy he’s faced was only a precursor of what’s to come. Delivering others from evil comes at a price.
