Source: Kevin Feige Explains How Magic Will Work In DOCTOR STRANGE
As President of Productions at Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige makes the rounds of Captain America: The Winter Soldier promotions, he drops some hints on what magic in the Marvel cinematic universe might be like:
"Are you watching the Cosmos series? That’s magic, [the quantum physics]. It’s unbelievable. If somebody knew how to tap into that stuff, what’s the difference between that and magic?"
It sounds a bit like how they talk about how things worked in the Thor movies. Furthermore…
"… if a scientist went to Hogwarts he’d find out how some of that stuff is happening! We’re not going to spend a lot of time on that, but there will be some of that. And particularly for a character like Strange, who goes from a man of science to a man of faith and who traverses both worlds. And sometimes there won’t be an answer! Sometimes he’ll want an answer - “How is this happening?!” - and nothing."
Still, a Doctor Strange movie hasn't been confirmed yet by Marvel Studios (even with rumors about a search for a director made the rounds a few weeks ago), but that hasn't stopped Feige from commenting on what kind of feel the movie should have:
"Doctor Strange needs to be a Ditko/Kubrick/Miyazaki/The Matrix mind-trip"
Sounds good to this reporter. Unfortunately Stanley Kubrick is deceased and Steve Ditko is somewhat of a recluse. The Wachowskis are said to be working on Jupiter Ascending, but if they do take on Strange, please keep them away from the sequels. Hayao Miyazaki is supposed to be retired from feature films, but he's come back from retirement before…
Now if they would just confirm a Doctor Strange movie…
