'Beware the Batman' Unaired Episodes Debut on New Zealand TV

Though the series still isn't airing in the US, the animated series is showing new episodes in New Zealand.

Six months since it was put on hiatus, fans wondered when they would be getting new episodes of Beware the Batman. Just last month, we were given two new episodes were released (along with the eleven that aired) in the first DVD/Blu-Ray set. It was only a matter of time before the remaining episodes would show up somewhere. That somewhere turns out to be New Zealand.

Three new episodes ("Darkness", "Reckoning", and "Nexus") aired on New Zealand's channel TVNZ  (along with the previously two episodes that debuted on DVD/Blu-Ray). Even better for New Zealanders, the episodes are avaiable online as well (anyone outside the region cannot watch it. CURSES!!). It wouldn't be surprising at all if more episodes will be out.

As for what the three latest new episodes are about. Well before I post the plot summaries small SPOILER WARNING:

Episode 14: "Darkness" - Batman makes an unlikely alliance with Silver Monkey to escape from the League of Assassins. Meanwhile, it's up to Katana, Alfred, Lieutenant Gordon, and Barbara, as Ra's al Ghul's attempts to cleanse the city during the black out has left it terrorized by the Ghosts and other criminals.

Episode 15: "Reckoning" - Ra's al Ghul recruits an army of Batman's foes (Professor Pyg, Mr. Toad, Magpie, Tobias Whale, Phosphorus Rex, and Cypher) to eliminate him in return for control of a piece of the city. Batman races to find his location and save both his partners and the entire city, while Lt. Gordon and Barbara attempt to hack and disable the Ion Cortex once and for all.

Episode 16 "Nexus" - Six months after the black out, new DA Harvey Dent is trying to put a stop to the mask and cape crisis. Batman finds himself being framed for an attempted attack on the life of the mayor, and takes drastic action to find out who is responsible.

As for the show being back at Cartoon Network. Well, still no word of the show's return and we're in mid-March and about to hit April (though it wouldn't be surprising if we learn the show's fate in the next few weeks or if it suddenly shows up). Will the remaining ten episodes be aired before then on New Zealand TV? We'll let you know on this developing story.
