A report from JemTheMovie.com revealed today that a live action movie based on the popular 1980s cartoon Jem and the Holograms is in the works, with casting being done via fan video submissions on Tumblr and G.I. Joe Retaliation director Jon Chu set to direct. The news has sent shockwaves of excitement throughout the almost-dormant community of DeviantArt artists who specialize in creating erotic but tasteful images of the characters from the cartoon, reinvigorating their interest in drawing pictures of Jem and the Holograms in various states of near-undress and steamy, implied lesbian scenarios.

"It's not that I don't love drawing erotic pictures of Jem, or any of the Holograms, or even the Misfits for that matter," explained community leader ShesRealInMyHeart. "But there hasn't been any new source material since 1988, so the well of inspiration had kind of run dry, so to speak. Until now, of course."

ShesRealInMyHeart told The Outhouse that he was looking forward to adapting his creepy artwork featuring Jem characters in see-through clothing making out with each other to look more like the actresses eventually cast in the film. "I'm hoping Chloe Moretz lands one of the roles, because I've already got a lot of practice making tastefully sexy drawings of her as Hit Girl."

He also wanted to make it clear that the erotic Jem fan art community is not in any way associated with the community of DeviantArt artists that create explicit pornographic images of Jem, which he called "utterly reprehensible," adding, "Those perverts give people who make sexy drawings of children's cartoon characters from the 80s a bad name."
