It's that time again! Time for buyout rumors from Bleeding Cool. This time, it's digital comics distributor comiXology that's on the bargaining table, and it's online retail behemoth Amazon that's looking to purchase it. According to Rich Johnston, he's been "hearing rumours from senior comic book industry figures, who expect a sale to go through for digital comic distributor ComiXology in three to six weeks." Johnston is less confident about the Amazon part of the rumor, but there are question marks at the end of the headling, so it's all good.
While comiXology has refused to comment, The Outhouse is always looking for ways to scoop Bleeding Cool, so we spoke to Amazon mogul Jeff Bezos:
Outhouse: Hi Jeff, thanks for joining us.
Jeff Bezos: My pleasure.
Outhouse: So. ComiXology... eh? eh?
Jeff Bezos: It's true. We're looking into purchasing them.
Outhouse: That's big news! I guess you're hoping to solidify Amazon's presence in the digital books market by buying the largest distributor of digital comics in the world?
Jeff Bezos: That's not why we're interested in them.
Jeff Bezos: The fact is, we've been trying to years to stupidly capitalize a random letter in the middle of our name, but we just can't get it right.
Jeff Bezos: We've had some of our best guys on it, but alas...
Outhouse: You mean like this: amaZon?
Jeff Bezos: HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!
Outhouse: Are you serious?
Jeff Bezos: I'll give you ten million dollars.
Jeff Bezos: Is there anything you Outhousers can't do?
So there you have it. It looks like Amazon isn't going to buy comiXology after all. So who's it going to be? Post your best guess below!
