Source: Kurt Cobain Getting His Own Comic Book
Blue Water Productions, publisher of a bunch of comics that sell well yet I’ve never seen anyone buy, is doing their best to remind me that I am half way to 70 with the April 2nd release of Tribute: Kurt Cobain to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the singer’s death.
From Rolling Stone:
Written and drawn by Jayfri Hashim, the comic is part of Blue Water Productions' "Tribute" series, which has already chronicled the lives of Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Jim Morrison and Keith Richards (future comics in the series are planned for Freddie Mercury and the members of Monty Python). The Cobain installment will cover the musician's early career and quick rise to superstardom, which caused him so much mental and emotional strife.
"Not only is this a great way to understand the importance of his contribution to music, but it is a great tool for kids to read about him in a different medium," said Blue Water publisher Darren G. Davis of Cobain's Tribute installment. "Our biography comic books are now taught in schools and libraries for students and reluctant readers."
Tribute is one of many “celebrations” of Cobain’s life that will culminate in Nirvana being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, alongside such acts as KISS – whom I assume Cobain was a big fan.
Our friends at Nix Comics are sponsoring The Outhouse this week. Show them you appreciate it by checking out their comics. One dollar from every Nix Comics sold this month will go to Kirby-4-Heroes.

RU, or as he’s known in the writers’ room: the cute one, is relatively unappreciated in his time. RU’s YouTube show, RUviews is watched by literally multiple people every month and his Outhouse articles have helped line many a bird cage. Before you send RU a message, he knows that there are misspelled words in this article, and probably in this bio he was asked to write. RU wants everyone to know that after 25+ years of collecting he still loves comic books and can’t believe how seriously fanboys take them. RU lives in Akron Ohio (unfortunately) with WIFE, ‘lilRuRu, and the @DogGodThor. You can also find him on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, & even Google+ (if anyone still uses that).
