The Kickstarter will start of with a high number of backers the first week and then continuously slide from that point on.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has seen its fair share of troubles lately, including a dreaded double cancelation and the looming eruption of a supervolcano, but showrunners Joss Whedon's Brother and Joss Whedon's Brother's Wife aren't taking the bad news lying down. Instead, they plan to carry on with the ill-fated series no matter what happens, according to a report from Digital Spy:
Co-showrunner Maurissa Tancharoen added that she and Whedon would still continue Agents of SHIELD in some form if the series is axed by ABC.
"We'll do a Kickstarter project to do a special movie or something," she insisted.
The pair also continued to blame fan expectations for the show's poor performance and nonstop ratings plummet and promised not to conclude any story arcs in the season finale, making sure to deliver that extra "Whedon show" level of frustration for fans who will never see resolutions to the plotlines they've foolishly invested themselves in.
Thanks to Outhouser Guy De Borg for the tipoff on this one.
