The internet is all a-flutter over a new TV spot for Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which is basically the same as all the other TV spots, except it features a two second clip in which you can kind of see the back of Splinter's head briefly. Splinter definitely still seems to be a mutant rat, putting to rest fears that producer Bay would turn him into a rat robot or Shia LaBeouf or something, so that's good. It was recently announced that Splinter's character actor, a white guy (Danny Woodburn), was replaced in voice acting by another white guy (Tony Shalhoub), joining the Shredder, who is also played by a white guy (William Fichtner). It remains to be seen whether any of the white guys will put on cheesy Asian accents for the final production, or whether Asians will be allowed to perform any roles in the film (perhaps Best Boy Grip?).
