Superstation WGN is the latest network to jump on the comic book adaptation bandwagon, as The Hollywood Reporter says the Chicaco-based station is adapting Scalped, the Vertigo comic by Jason Aaron and R.M. Guera. WGN is afliated with the CW, but broadcasts its feed nationwide on cable as WGN America. Don't think too hard about it. Doug Jung is writing and producing.
The series was critically acclaimed, and gave Jason Aaron a reputation as a promising new writer before he threw it all away to write what basically amounts to erotic Wolverine fan fic for Marvel. Hopefully this adaptation will remind him that it is possible to write characters who are not insufferable Mary Sues.
