Teh Fuq?: Marvel Universe LIVE! To Get Prequel Comic

I’m beginning to think that I am not all that good of a comic book journalist as this makes two things I just found out about today.

Source: Exclusive: Marvel Universe LIVE! Reveals Comic Book Prequel Tie-in

Sometime earlier today, IGN fellated itself over its EXCLUSIVE announcement that Marvel’s traveling vaudeville show, Marvel Universe LIVE!, will have a comic book tie-in that “acts as a prequel to the story of the show.” Marvel, seemingly, announced the Marvel Universe LIVE! Stage show this past October at New York ComiCon to much fanfare…I assume, seriously, this is the first I’m reading of such a show.

I guess it’s cool that they got named writer, Frank Tieri, or Teri depending on if you look his name up not, (Deadpool), to write the comic available for free on April 16 (today) to those who preorder tickets to the show. Joining Tieri on wrt dutites are Miguel Sepulveda and Jay David Ramos with Mike McKone providing the cover.

The plot of Marvel On Ice Universe LIVE! and the comic prequel, as described by IGN in its EXCLUSIVE article, is (the below is a direct quote, don’t email me about misspellings):

The comic will be available for free April 16 to those who pre-order tickets. The story of the show centers around Loki's quest to reassemble the Cosmic Cube (aka the Tesseract from the Avengers movie) after Thor smashed it to bits -- it's an adventure that spans the entire Marvel universe and features the Avengers, Wovlerine, Spider-Man, and their signature villains. The prequel comic will show just how Thor wound up with the cube, and it will also introduce a new gadget added to Marvel lore just for the show: the Lectro Link.

So, yea, this is happening.

Maybe I should pay more attention to what’s going on around me.

About the Author - GHERU

RU, or as he’s known in the writers’ room: the cute one, is relatively unappreciated in his time.  RU’s YouTube show, RUviews is watched by literally multiple people every month and his Outhouse articles have helped line many a bird cage.  Before you send RU a message, he knows that there are misspelled words in this article, and probably in this bio he was asked to write.  RU wants everyone to know that after 25+ years of collecting he still loves comic books and can’t believe how seriously fanboys take them.  RU lives in Akron Ohio (unfortunately) with WIFE, ‘lilRuRu, and the @DogGodThor.  You can also find him on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, & even Google+ (if anyone still uses that).
