Original Sin: Bendis Will Reveal How Starlord Survived The Cancerverse

Bendis on Cancerverse survivors? Oh No-va!

Original Sin, the Marvel Comics event stemming from the death of the Watcher (sorry, spoiler) and the secrets his stolen eyes hold, will also be felt in the monthly Guardians of the Galaxy series.

This event tie-in, written by Brian Michael Bendis, will focus on a secret Starlord (or Star-Lord as they are referring to him recently) has kept about his return from "death" in the Cancerverse. For those who did not read the previous Thanos Imperative event, the Cancerverse was a corrupted alternate version of our universe. Starlord and Nova took Thanos to the Cancerverse and did battle with the Revengers (alternate Avengers), sacrificing their lives to keep the Cancerverse from collapsing onto our own. When the new Guardians of the Galaxy comic launched, there was no explanation of how Starlord returned (and no real explanation of how the Nova Force was still active in the new Nova title). Guardians of the Galaxy #18 will answer the question about Starlord's return, but the rest of the Guardians may not like the answer.

Bendis also says that some of the other Guardians will have secrets exposed in this issue and that there is a "one hundred percent" chance that we will find out what happend to the original Nova, Richard Rider.

Oh boy.

Guardians of the Galaxy #18 by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Ed McGuinness, will reveal itself on shelves in August 2014.
