[Fucking Hell, Image, you are going to make me have to ask for a raise. I work for the government, I DON’T GET NO RAISES!]
Well, shit, remember how you didn’t buy the first issue of Criminal, Incognito, Sleeper, or Fatale? Well, now’s your chance to get in on the ground floor of a new Brubaker/Philips collaboration, The Fade Out. Announced at Image Expo in January when it was announced that Brubaker/Philips had a five eyar deal to do “whatever [the fuck] they want.”
So, of course they go in a completely new direction:
”It’s the closest thing we’ve done to criminal…”
Still, even with Fatale, the odds are good that this book will be epic and you should pre-order it as soon as you can. Don’t worry, we’ll remind you.
Check it out, a synopsis:
An intricate and groundbreaking crime story on a level Brubaker and Phillips have never tackled before, THE FADE OUT weaves a tangled web through the underbelly of a 1948 Hollywood... A noir film stuck in endless reshoots. A writer plagued with nightmares from the war and a dangerous secret. An up-and-coming starlet's suspicious death. And a maniacal studio mogul and his security chief who will do anything to keep the cameras rolling before the Post-War boom days come crashing down. THE FADE OUT is the most ambitious series yet from the award-winning Noir Masters.
Ohhh, sweet, look at that variant cover! Marvel and DC best be watching out!

RU, or as he’s known in the writers’ room: the cute one, is relatively unappreciated in his time. RU’s YouTube show, RUviews is watched by literally multiple people every month and his Outhouse articles have helped line many a bird cage. Before you send RU a message, he knows that there are misspelled words in this article, and probably in this bio he was asked to write. RU wants everyone to know that after 25+ years of collecting he still loves comic books and can’t believe how seriously fanboys take them. RU lives in Akron Ohio (unfortunately) with WIFE, ‘lilRuRu, and the @DogGodThor. You can also find him on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, & even Google+ (if anyone still uses that).
