DC is finally recognizing the marketablity of their most well-known female character with... a digital first series. Well, it's better than nothing!

In the pre-solicits DC sends out to all the big comic book websites before sending out their full solicits, DC revealed that Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman will launch in August, with the first story written by Gail Simone and illustrated by Ethan Van Sciver, both creators that are nice to us yet haven't been fired by DC (well, this week at least), a testament to their talent, power, and influence. More creators will contribute to the title in the coming months, though we're not sure whether each story will run a single issue or multiple issue arcs. Some more of the creators being teased: Lauren Beukes, Cecil Castellucci, Amanda Deibert, Caitlin Kittredge, James Tynion IV, Georges Jeanty, Chris Sprouse, and Cat Staggs.

Here's the solicitation, which seems to indicate the book is set in the Old DC Universe, as it references Oracle:

Diana Prince: Amazon warrior, ambassador to Man’s world, or champion of women in need? All of the above! This digital-first anthology series will bring some of comics’ greatest talents to Themyscira, and give them leave to explore Diana, her world – and ours!

Gail Simone and Ethan Van Sciver kick things off when Oracle calls for help after the entire Bat-Family gets sidelined. But when Wonder Woman steps into the breach, Gotham City’s criminals get the surprise of their lives! Then, Amanda Deibert and Cat Staggs take Diana to school, where she meets her biggest fan!
