In a shocking display of lack of coordination, sarcastic comic book website The Outhouse published two articles reporting on the same topic on Saturday. According to sources, after learning about the departure of Cabin in the Woods director Drew Goddard from Marvel's upcoming Daredevil Netflix series, both Jude Terror and Christian Hoffer submitted reports about the story in separate articles, published at roughly the same time (though Terror's was published first).
"it looks to this reporter to be the ol' "executives know more about creativity than actual creative people" rearing its ugly head again," speculated Terror in his version of the story, "and it's worrying for the future of the Marvel cinematic universe. Panic! Panic! AIIIEEEEE!"
"The timing is curious as Edgar Wright and Marvel announced that the director was leaving Ant-Man yesterday," reported Hoffer in his more measured approach. "Wright had been working on the movie for years, with casting for the main roles recently completed. Early reports suggested that Goddard may have departed Marvel out of solidarity for Wright, but it seems that Goddard simply has more interest in directing another feature film instead of working on a television project."
Hoffer also noted that "according to THR, Goddard will be replaced by Steven S. DeKnight, a colleague of Goddard's from the Buffy and Angel writing rooms," while Terror admitted that " Goddard is doing Sinister Six, so scheduling conflicts could be at play here too."
At press time, Hoffer had challenged Terror to a duel, vowing to make him "the Alexander Hamilton to my Aaron Burr." Terror planned to write a third sarcastic article mocking the fact that they'd both reported on the same story at the same time (though Terror's "was published first," he gloated).
