Yesterday, Geoff Johns teased the possibly of seeing another Nanda Parbat alumni (Merlyn being the first as the location was named dropped during Season 1) and sometimes member of the League of Assassins, Lady Shiva, show up for Season 3 of Arrow. Johns then added this tweet:
It would make sense given that next season will see Merlyn (played by the ever charismatic John Barrowman) promoted to series regular. As for a brief history of Lady Shiva in various media, well here's the short version. Currently in the New 52 comics, Shiva is buried deeply in Batman lore as her last two appearances came from Nightwing along with Red Hood & the Outlaws, both focusing on the assassin aspect of the character. Pre-New 52 Shiva was a martial artist who paradoxical in motive. She's been both ally and foe to the likes of Richard Dragon, both Questions, Black Canary, Batman, and her own daughter, the fourth Batgirl, Cassandra Cain.
Just last year the character had an alright showing as one of the optional bosses in Batman: Arkham Origins, voiced by Kelly Hu (who plays the villainous China White on Arrow). She also had a reccurring role in Beware the Batman (though voiced by Finola Hughes). We'll be keeping tabs on this story, so stay tuned.
