Source: More Names Emerge for Ant-Man Directing Gig
By now most who follow Marvel movies know about director Edgar Wright pulling out of the Ant-Man project due to creative differences. Other directors have been floated about to take his place, but it appears that none of them have panned out.
The project hasn't been exterminated (yet) though as more directors have been named to be in the running. On the shortlist are said to be Peyton Reed (Yes Man, The Break Up, Bring It On) and David Wain (Role Models, Wet Hot American Summer, Childrens Hospital).
We'll see how long it takes until they pull themselves out of the running as well.
In related "news", Michael Douglas, who is playing Henry Pym in the movie, spoke out about Edgar Wright's departure from the film.
"I was very disappointed. I am a big fan of [Edgar's]. It’s a very disappointing situation. Happened very late in the game. I don’t think anybody’s quite recovered. My heart goes out to Edgar – he’s been involved with the project for a long time."
Ant-Man is set (for now) to infest theaters on July 17, 2015.
