News that EA was taking over Star Wars mainline video game production last year left many a fan fearing something terrible had happened. With the Star Wars video game projects that were in production at the time, EA said that the games would not be arriving on consoles until 2015. That timeline still stands, but today at E3, a small peek at the first of the EA Star Wars games was revealed.
Game developer DICE produced a video detailing the lengths they went through to give the upcoming game the detail it deserved. They went to the Lucas archives to photograph models and props, and also to some of the actual outdoor locations that the films were shot (if they were in the actual locations, then that would likely be Finse, Norway for Hoth and Crescent City, California for Endor). So yes, it's confirmed that Star Wars Battleftont will have the original film series technology and locations.
DICE promises more information come Spring 2015.
Here's the video preview (warning very little actual game footage shown):
This reporter can't wait for their location scouting video for the space scenes.
