Netflix is allegedly making a new Star Trek series with CBS.
A new, and mostly untrue rumor claims that Netflix is attempting to produce a new Star Trek series, in conjunction with CBS. The rumor cites that Larry Nemecek, a noted Star Trek historian, made several comments about the alleged Netflix series at Phoenix Comicon, with Netflix bandying about a lucrative royalty deal to entice CBS into cooperating.
Of course, Star Trek fans were desperate for ANY sort of new material, and went nuts about the "rumor". But it's pretty much a non-story, as Nemecek later clarified on his blog Trekland that Netflix has only inquired about making a new Star Trek series, and that the company has made nothing but "overtures" about a new series. Nemecek went on to state that he's unaware of any new series in development.
So, no, there's actually no Star Trek series filled with cursing and nudity like the headline says. But it made for a good headline, and that's more than 75% of our articles can say.
