Marvel Studios sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry today when they released a character poster for their upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy film featuring Zoe Saldana as Gamora without including a gratuitous shot of the actress's butt. Industry analysts reacted with disbelief upon seeing the poster, which shows a direct frontal shot of Saldana, neglecting to show even a hint of her butt, "as if she were a man, or something." Butt shots, particularly those that show both the butt and breasts at the same time in an anatomically impossible pose, are a hallmark of the comic book industry's handling of female characters.
"I don't know what to say," said Professor of Butts on Movie Posters at the prestigious University of Phoenix, Thaddeus T. Puffinbottoms. "It's unprecedented. I mean, clearly this is an official movie poster produced by Marvel Studios. It isn't a fake. But there's Gamora, without her butt showing. What's going on?"
"Wait a minute!" Professor Puffinbottoms shouted as he hastily grabbed his cell phone. Puffinbottoms opened the Marvel AR app and began pointing it at the movie poster, looking for an AR code that would reveal hidden content on the poster, presumably containing a photo of Gamora's butt. "This isn't right! I can't find anything!"
At press time, a befuddled Puffinbottoms was seen holding the poster up to a mirror, trying his best to catch a glimpse of Gamora's rear end. Stay tuned to The Outhouse for updates.
