Yes, you read that correctly.
Are you sad that the upcoming seventh season of HBO's sexy vampire drama True Blood will be its last and the books kinda suck? Fear not! True Blood composer Nathan Barr has the answer: a True Blood musical!
In an interview with the Associated Press at the True Blood season 7 premiere on Tuesday, Barr claimed that this is a real thing he wants to do, and he's even pitched it to series creator Alan Ball and HBO:
This was something that I pitched to HBO and (show creator) Alan Ball. [...] I think we're really going to try to return to the roots of the show
Barr cautions fans not to get too excited:
There's no guarantees, but I think the direction we're heading in is really exciting.
However, the idea may not be all that far-fetched. Stephen Moyer, who plays sexy vampire Bill Compton on the show, has helped Barr put together samples for HBO. Moyer recently starred in ABC's television revival of The Sound of Music.
If the show becomes a reality, it'll be a few years before it hits the stage. In any case, the production will be hard pressed to match its fictiojnal blood and violence with the actual real-life carnage of the ill-fated Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.
