This past weekend Transformers fans gathered for the annual BotCon in Pasadena, California. Transformers conventions are not only for toy collectors, as the Transformers is a full-blown multimedia franchise (see the unfortunately profitable Michael Bay movies for example, and this). The Transformers also have comics based on them currently published by IDW, and two mini-series have been announced to supplement the ongoing titles (Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye and Transformers: Robots In Disguise) at the Transformers Comics - IDW panel.
The first of these revolves around the Autobot character Drift and is subtitled "Empire of Stone". The story will follow up from some of the events in the "More Than Meets The Eye" title and may have appearances of other characters from that title. The story will be by Shane McCarthy with art by Guido Guidi. This mini series will be out in November.

The second mini series will be "Windblade Returns" (not sure if that is the final title). Not much could be divulged about this comic that would not spoil the still-running miniseries. Writer Mairghread Scott and artist Sarah Stone return for the follow up to her first miniseries. Winblade will return some time in 2015.
The panel also gave a summary of what's coming up for the two ongoing series, as well as the upcoming Transformers: Primacy and Transformers Vs G.i. Joe titles. It was also announced that the motion comic Transformers: Punishment is out and available via the Madefire app. There are currently no plans to have tie-in comics for the upcoming Transformers: Age of Extinction movie but there are plans for comics based on the upcoming Transformers: Robots In Disguise television series (that can't get confusing can it?).
