¡Hola Comrades! Juan Cena here once again for Cubano Review! El Presidente is recovering from a busy Cuatro de Julio. That leaves me to reveal to you the new trailer for Foxcatcher, featuring Steve Carell, Mark Ruffalo, and Channing Tatum in a wrestling singlet.

Foxcatcher is a biopic about U.S. Olympic wrestler Mark Schultz (played by Tatum), who won a gold medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. It centers around his time as a member of Team Foxcatcher, a wrestling team and facility funded by eccentric multimillionaire John du Pont (Carell). And by “eccentric” I mean downright nuts. In 1996, du Pont shot and killed Schultz’s brother, Dave Schultz (Ruffalo), and was in a stand-off with police for two days. He was later found “guilty but mentally ill” on charges of third-degree murder for Schultz’s death. He died in prison in 2010.

Carell has started to gather some major Oscar buzz for his performance as du Pont. The film’s director, Bennett Miller (Moneyball) has already won the Best Director award from the Cannes Film Festival. The film was also nominated for the festival’s top honor, the Palme d’Or, but lost out to the Turkish film Winter Sleep.

Foxcatcher also features Anthony Michael Hall, Sienna Miller, and Vanessa Redgrave. It’s scheduled for a Nov. 14, 2014 release.
