[SPOILERS] The Townsfolk From Blazing Saddles React To Rumored New Captain America

I wonder what they’ll say.

OK, well, this is one of those stories where I don’t know if it’s a spoiler or not, so I’ll just go ahead and throw up the flag just in case.

Ok, so, this past Saturday (aka ‘MURICA’S birthday) Marvel teased a new Captain America with this image:

Who could it be?

Well, as our good buddy Rich over at BleedingCool points out, it’s not that difficult to unravel the mystery as long as one has a memory longer than DC’s current continuity, or has easy access to Marvel teaser images:

I don’t know about you, but it sure looks to me like alleged statuary rapist and highest profiled black character, Sam “The Falcon” Wilson, holding Rogers’ shield.

But, I could be wrong.

For more analysis The Outhouse sent correspondents to Marvel HQ in New York City…unfortunately, it seems Marvel gave us the wrong address for our GPS and the reporters ended up in frontier town of Rock Ridge, made famous in the 1974 documentary Blazing Saddles. This, as it turns out, did not stop our idiotic crew from randomly interviewing people about a possible new Captain America:

The Outhouse: What do you think of the new Captain America?

Dr. Johnson: What? Did they recast Chris Evans? I liked him

OH: No, in the comic books.

Dr. Johnson: They still make those?

---

The Outhouse: What do you think of the new Captain America?

Mary Sue Johnson: I really liked it. Winter soldier might be the best comic book movie yet. Heads above whatever the heck they are doing with Thor.

OH: No, in the comic books.

Ms. Johnson: They still make those?

---

The Outhouse: What do you think of the new Captain America?

Howard Johnson: I trade wait, so please no spoilers

OH: I hate this town

---

The Outhouse: What do you think of the new Captain America?

Randy Johnson: I’m actually looking forward to the new status quo. I won’t say that I’ve been a fan of what Rick [Remeder] has been doing with the character, and Jr’s art is enough to make someone lose a perfect game, but I see no issues with Sam Wilson as Captain America, as long as it works with the story.

OH: Are you concerned with the fact that it might be perceived as PC to have a black Captain America?

RJ: Why would I? Oh, I get it; you’re looking for some sort of “A black Captain America” quote like from the movie aren’t you? Well, I’ll tell you, jerk, it’s been 140 years since those times, and the town has grown a lot since then in attitude and size. We even have three non “Johnsons” living here now, a nice Indian family (dots not feathers), the Shahnsons. Good people.

Well, there you go, we couldn't even get a town known for its comedic racism to bite at this. Let’s wait a few days and see how well the internet does.

RU, or as he’s known in the writers’ room: the cute one, is relatively unappreciated in his time.  RU’s YouTube show, RUviews is watched by literally multiple people every month and his Outhouse articles have helped line many a bird cage.  Before you send RU a message, he knows that there are misspelled words in this article, and probably in this bio he was asked to write.  RU wants everyone to know that after 25+ years of collecting he still loves comic books and can’t believe how seriously fanboys take them.  RU lives in Akron Ohio (unfortunately) with WIFE, ‘lilRuRu, and the @DogGodThor.  You can also find him on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, & even Google+ (if anyone still uses that).
