Lucy Griffiths was set to play a new character named Liv in the upcoming NBC show Constantine, based (loosely) on the DC Comics character, but, according to The Hollywood Reporter, not anymore. Griffiths, who was the female lead, is off the show, to be replaced by an as-yet-uncast Zed, an actual character from the comics. No explanation was provided other than the producers wanting to go in "a different direction." THR says that additional characters from Hellblazer and the DC occult universe will be introduced later in the series. No word yet on whether they will also replace Constantine with a character who actually resembles the comics version in some way.
