Over the years, the Outhouse has been...well, crapped on by a lot of folks in the "comics journalism" world. Some of it's been deserved, some of it hasn't, and some has been a mix of both. But, there's one "writer about comics" who has always been supremely supportive of both The Outhouse and its mission, Steve Morris.
For those of you who don't know Steve, he's an editor for Heidi MacDonald's Comics Beat, and also contributes interviews to CBR (and probably a few other websites, too). He has an infectious, giddy love of both comics and comics criticism, and is a fantastic source of knowledge about mainstream comics, creator-owned work, and small press and European comics.
And now, Steve has his very own website, ComicSpire.com, with which to share his fantastic comics rambling with the world. Steve's been building up content on the site for weeks, and already has some fantastic features about British kid's comics, crowdfunding and non Big Two comics. Steve's joy and love of comics shines through every article, and all of his work is top-notch and high quality.
There are very few online folks whom I consider to be a true friend. Steve is one, and he's also been a great supporter of the Outhouse during its transition into the snarky site you see today. So, do both yourself and the Outhouse a favor and bookmark Steve's site. It'll be a fantastic source of comics news and commentary for years to come.
The Outhouse is sponsored this week by Late Nite Draw. Recently featured on ComicsAlliances' Best Art Ever, he is a Chicago-based commissioned artist with a self-published Digital+Print one-shot coming out in October about the abominable snowman called ABOBAMANIMABBLE, and is also available for commissions. Check out some amazing art by clicking here or by clicking the banner at the top, and support the people who support The Outhouse.
