In case you've been living under a rock, Archie Comics's big news this past week was Life With Archie #36, featuring the death of beloved character Archie Andrews. The issue went on sale last Wednesday and was immediately met with a wave of media press attention and outstanding reviews.
Archie Comics has now confirmed that the issue sold out at the comic shop distributor level, and a second printing of this best-selling issue has been rush-ordrered by the publisher. The second printing will be in Magazine format with a price tag of $ 9.99 and will also feature a new cover.
In the Press Release, Archie Comics Publisher/CEO Jon Goldwater stated:
“We’ve been building up to this moment since we launched Life With Archie five years ago, and knew that any book that was telling the story of Archie’s life as an adult had to also show his final moment. Archie has and always will represent the best in all of us—he’s a hero, good-hearted, humble and inherently honorable. This story is going to inspire a wide range of reactions because we all feel so close to Archie. Fans will laugh, cry, jump off the edge of their seats and hopefully understand why this comic will go down as one of the most important moments in Archie’s entire history. It’s the biggest story we’ve ever done, and we’re supremely proud of it.”
Look for this second printing to hits stores on July 30. In the meantime, below you can check out the new cover.

About the Author - IvCNuB4
IvCNuB4 likes to maintain an air of mystery by never publicly revealing his true name unless you are one of the four lucky Outhouse posters he has PM'd it to. A life-long Chicago native, he was introduced to comics by his older brother's vast collection of Silver Age issues. When he is not at his day job as an IT geek or making the most of Chicago's three months of incredible summer, he can found spending way too much time with his very large, very loud Italian family. You will never find him on the likes of Facebook or Twitter as he scoffs at the necessity of most forms of social media.
