The federal government is investigating to see if she violated anti-trust legislation.

Dynamite announced a "Women of Dynamite" crossover event written by Gail Simone and featuring Red Sonja, Deja Thoris and Vampirella.    Several other female characters from Dynamite's line will also appear in the event.   Dynamite declined to give any other information about the series, such as an artistic team or release date.

It's believed that the crossover will give Simone complete control over the "metal bikini" cross-section of comics, long valued by comics retailers for their inexplicable ability to sell comics regardless of the writing or art quality.  When coupled with Simone's high-quality storytelling on Red Sonja, federal investigators are probing whether Women of Dynamite is in violation of any anti-trust laws.  Federal investigators are worried that, with Simone writing every metal bikini wearing character ever, she'll refuse to relinquish control of the properties, thus creating a monopoly.

"We take metal bikinis very seriously in Washington DC," said FBI agent John Straightslacks.  "And we want to make sure that every comic creator, not just the brilliant ones like Simone, has equal access to writing characters that wear them."   Several longboxes filled with comics with metal bikini-clad characters were seen being carried into the FBI's offices in Washington.  FBI investigators were also seen retrieving past issues of Red Sonja and taking them to their offices, locking the door behind them.

Dynamite had no comment about the alleged federal investigation, but they did release a press release about the new series, which can be found on CBR.
