Uncharted Movie Finally Put On The Map

Fresh from development hell, the movie gets a date assigned.

Buried somewhat in the news about the Sinister Six and Amazing Spider-Man movies, Sony also announced the release date for it's Uncharted movie adaption. Long rumored to be in development hell (rumors say since 2007), it looks like the videogame's main character treasure hunter Nathan Drake will finally take his place on the screen alongside Sony's other famous motion picture hero, Spider-Man

… then kick him to the curb. Yes, in the Spider-Man related movies news, it's being announced that the Uncharted movie will hit the big screen on June 10, 2016, the same slot that The Amazing Spider-Man 3 was supposed to inhabit. Instead The Amazing Spider-Man 3 will crawl to 2018 (possibly May 4, 2018, the slot originally reserved for The Amazing Spider-Man 4).

No real details are available about the Uncharted movie, though early talk had the movie adapting material from Naughty Dog/Sony Computer Entertainment's original Uncharted: Drake's Fortune video game. Commenting in that same Spider-Man article, president of Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group Doug Belgrad said "June 10 is a great date for Uncharted"…"It's just the right place for this exciting action-adventure film." Ouch. Sorry Spidey.
