Rick Remender, Sean Murphy and Matt Hollingsworth announced Tokyo Ghost, a new sci-fi ongoing series being published by Image Comics. The series is set in a post-post apocalyptic Los Angeles run by a crooked entertainment industry, and will be released next summer.
From the Image press release:
“Tokyo Ghost” revolves around a Los Angeles that’s too fucked up to be called post-apocalyptic. The fractured city is filled with manic consumers fighting and deceiving each other to get their fix of escapism, anyway to stop thinking about their horrible lives, which they receive from an entertainment industry run entirely by criminals.
While we often are pretty critical of Remender's superhero work, his indie stuff has been pretty solid, and his recent Image series, Black Science and Deadly Class, have both been decent. Plus, Sean Murphy, Sean Murphy, Sean Murphy.
