JR Ramirez has been cast as Ted Grant for the upcoming season of Arrow.  Grant, better known as fans as the DC Golden Age superhero known as Wildcat, was one of Black Canary's mentors and trained her in hand to hand combat.  He also had a brief affair with her mother, the Golden Age Black Canary, as revealed in the JLA: Year One comic.

Grant will be aged down a bit in the show, as Ramirez is only a year older than Arrow series lead Stephen Amell.  According to Deadline, Grant will be a former boxer who runs a gym for underprivledged youth, and will be interacting primarily with Katie Cassidy's character, Laurel.

Ramirez has had recurring roles in Starz's Power and CW's Emily Owens MD.
