Source: 'Frozen' Gets Sequel in Book Series

Disney's Frozen is the highest grossing animated film, with a worldwide boxoffice of over a billion dollars. With its success, one might wonder if the movie would get a sequel. Typically the Disney "princess" movies don't get film sequels, but direct to video follow-ups. The characters of Frozen will take a different path, the path of prose.

Yes, Random House LLC has announced the follow up to the popular movie will be in book form starting January 6, 2015. Anna & Elsa #1: All Hail the Queen's synopsis reads:

"Now that the castle gates are open, Anna and Elsa are thrilled to be finally getting to know their kingdom. Anna bubbles with enthusiasm for all the things to do and the people to meet in Arendelle, and Elsa loves using her magic to help the town. But sometimes even a queen needs a day off."

January 6 will also bring Anna & Elsa #2: Memory and Magic, both books will be authored by Erica David (How to Train Your Dragon, Legend of Korra licensed books).

Futhermore, "two more books will follow later in the year. Random House plans to publish three or four books a year going forward."

Looks like the Frozen saga will live on for some time to come.*
